PopCap Game- Bejeweled
For many years video games have been all about the hard core player. Typically young men, have the time, budget and patience to spend hours crafting an empire or honing their skills on a first-person shooter. But that focus is shifting dramatically thanks to a very simple game that involves creating rows of matching jewels. When it first appeared in 2001 the game was known as Diamond Mine but is best known as Bejeweled. Bejeweled is known as a casual game because it can be played for a few minutes rather than for the hours that games such as World of Warcraft demand. It allows me to play in short burst, during breaks, while waiting for the food to be cooked. The ability to quickly reach a final stage, or continuous play with no need to save the game. I was able to unlock the Hyper version of this game and I am currently tagged as a Legendary Collector.
The objective of this game is to swap one gem with an adjacent gem to form a horizontal or vertical chain of three or more gems. Bonus points are given when more than three identical gems are formed or form two lines of identical gems in one swap. Gems disappear when chains are formed and gems fall from the top to fill in gaps. Sometimes chain reactions, called cascades, are triggered, where chains are formed by the falling gems. Cascades are awarded with bonus points.
